Strategy

The Diamond Fund uses an index strategy which aims for long-term capital growth. It invests in shares of public companies that have enormous competitive advantages. The Diamond Fund replicates the Diamond Index. The Diamond Index is based on criteria that target companies that are part of the S&P 500 or the S&P/TSX, with abnormally high profit margins and returns on capital. Accounting data is cleaned to identify true sustainable profits and put all companies on the same scale in terms of their capitalization structure. All components have equal weighting.

Performance

The Diamond Fund is available since August 2024. This fund replicates the Diamond Index.

This is an Index. The returns above do not represent the returns of an actual investment fund. They represent the unaudited returns of a stock index created by McLean Capital. These returns include the impact of the Canadian exchange rate with the US. Excluding the impact of the Canadian dollar, the annualized return of the index from 2014 to 2023 (10 years) was 19%. Performance is presented before fees. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

The S&P 500 index was created in 1968. We can still obtain its performance in the decades before 1968 because the S&P 500 is an index. Just like the S&P 500 index, it is therefore possible to obtain the returns of the Diamond Index before the creation of the Diamond Fund on August 31, 2024.
